Tahiti lemon

Description

The cultivation of Tahiti lemon in Colombia has shown exponential growth. Although concrete statistics on developments in the departments of Nariño, Cauca, Huila, Valle del Cauca, Tolima, “Eje Cafetero”, and Santander are not available yet, Novacampo has conducted research in these departments and identified crops with an age ranging from 2 to 6 years. These crops will soon reach maturity and apply significant pressure on prices in the domestic market, which will compel Colombia to seek markets abroad. Novacampo has been working with some of these regions for the past two years to obtain certifications such as Global Gap, Rainforest, and Organic. We have been exporting to the European market and packing limes for other exporters targeting the American market. Our current production capacity is 10 containers per week, and we aim to export two containers per week to the Canadian market. Recognizing the strength of the Mexican product, we aim to start with a 40-foot container and gradually increase our presence in the market to achieve the goal of two containers by the first quarter of 2025.
