Company Description

Fruitcorp is a fresh fruit trading company based in Cape Town, South Africa. Fruitcorp is a product of the joint venture between Dalexco Trading cc and Flavoured By Nature cc, owned respectively by Colin Verwoerd, Danie Verwoerd and David Rencontre. The venture was formed in late 2005 for the purpose of combining the procurement expertise of Dalexco with the trading and marketing skills of Flavoured By Nature. The company focuses solely on the trading area of the fresh fruit export trade. This is done by means of procuring on firm prices and in turn selling on firm prices, with the emphasis on supplying a quality product to our international customers. The company's core trading commodities are stonefruit, grapes and hard citrus. We have taken the decision not to get too involved with pears and apples and to stay totally away from exotics such as mango's, litchi's and avocado's due to the strict protocols involved and the high risk. All containers are inspected before departure from South Africa and customers are sent a Quality Control report with digital photographs to ensure that all parties are happy with what is been shipped. All prices quoted are FOB (Free on Board) South Africa. This means that the shipping and overseas costs are for the customers account and the customer therefore needs to take this into consideration when calculating the viability of the deal. As a rule, the company is obliged to take credit insurance on all customers. Once this is approved, we are in a position to offer the customer payment terms of 60% on faxed copy Bill of Lading and 40% 7 days after sound arrival. Without credit cover, we require 100% of the FOB price on faxed copy Bill of Lading. We will also issue the customer with an undertaking whereby we will stand for all proven quality related issues, provided these issues are reported within our prescribed Terms and Conditions (copy available on request). We are nearing the end of our citrus season, but will be starting with stonefruit and grapes the first week of November. We hope to hear from you soon in order to find a viable trading plan for all concerned. Please feel free to contact David on the numbers below.
