Ms. Susan Sinclair,
Policy Manager, Food Directorate,
Health Canada
Susan Sinclair is a policy manager in the Food Directorate of Health Canada, the federal authority responsible for establishing regulations regarding the nutritional quality of food.
Since starting her career as a public servant in 2004, she has worked on several important nutrition files, including sugars and front-of-package nutrition labelling. Susan holds a BASc in applied nutrition and an MSc in nutritional epidemiology.
Ms. Consolar Mufer, Acting Policy and Programs Leader, Consumer Protection Directorate, Policy and Programs Branch, Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Consolar Mufer joined CFIA in May of 2010. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from Kazan State University, Russia, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Project Management at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Gatineau, Canada.
For the first six years of her career at CFIA, she held the position of Food Safety and Fair labelling Practices Inspector for the imported and manufactured foods program. During this time, she developed expertise in evaluating food labels and providing guidance to food manufacturers and importers on Canadian food safety and labelling regulatory requirements. She was Policy and Program Specialist with the Consumer Protection and Market Fairness Division of CFIA’S Policy and Programs Branch for 4 years. For the last years, she is the acting Policy and Program Leader with the same Branch. Part of her duties consist of providing guidance to Industry and CFIA inspectorate on various regulatory requirements that relate to food labelling.
