Produce, dairy most popular grocery items ordered on DoorDash in 2022

“Bananas, eggs and milk were the most common grocery items ordered via DoorDash this year, followed by strawberries and blueberries.

On Wednesday (Nov. 30), the food delivery company released a snapshot of Canadians’ “best and quirkiest” food and ordering habits over the past year, regionally and nationally.

“Year-over-year, a trend we continue to see increase is Canadians’ love for food,” Shilpa Arora, general manager, DoorDash Canada, said in a statement.

Biggest couponers: Thunder Bay, Mississauga and Saskatoon are the biggest savers, using the most discount codes offered on the platform this year.

Most organised: Quebec City, Drummondville and Winnipeg planned the most orders in advance.

Good pet parents: Cornwall, Fredericton and Ottawa had the highest orders for pet essentials.

Most expensive order: A total of $2,761 was spent on a single order in Outremont, Que. – but there were some additional contenders. Among the biggest orders in 2022, according to DoorDash, were:

“Every single beauty product, moisturiser, lotion imaginable ordered in Markham, Ont.”
