TFO Canada and VIETRADE Sign TRISEG Implementation Agreement to Support Inclusive and Sustainable Trade Growth in Vietnam

TFO Canada signed a Project Implementation Agreement with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, for the implementation of the Trade for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth (TRISEG) project in Vietnam.

The agreement was signed on June 5, 2026, in Ottawa at the Global Affairs Canada office, following the Vietnam–Canada Joint Economic Committee meeting. Mr. Steven Tipman, Executive Director of TFO Canada, and Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of VIETRADE, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony was observed by Mr. Arun Thangaraj, Deputy Minister of Global Affairs Canada, and Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. Senior officials from the governments of Canada and Vietnam, as well as TFO Canada, were also in attendance.

TRISEG is a five-year project funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada. The project works with Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) and other stakeholders in 16 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—particularly those owned or led by women, or by under-represented groups—in accessing Canadian and international markets. TRISEG strengthens TSIs as key entry points for SME development through training, capacity building, and market access initiatives.
