The central statistics agency, Statistics Indonesia or BPS, recorded December's export value at US$16.54 billion. The figure reflects an 8.39 percent increase from the previous month, while on a yearly basis the value grew 14.63 percent.
BPS chief Suhariyanto said the increase was triggered by increasing commodity prices in international markets.
"Many commodities experienced price hikes," Suhariyanto said on Friday, January 15.
