New Source for Textiles, Home Decor and Garments: TFO Canada’s Canadian Artisan Hub Exhibition

Creating sustainable trade is the hallmark of TFO Canada’s mandate and another one of its projects is fulfilling this is the Artisan Hub, an exhibition in textiles, home décor and garments. The Artisan Hub is an innovative new project to promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the specialty textile and garment sector. The initiative will be capitalising on unique skills that are largely untapped beyond their traditional borders.

At the heart of this initiative is the promotion of specialty textiles and fabrics, home décor items and garments of producers/artisans from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Haiti, Lesotho, Madagascar, and Uganda to Canadian buyers. The initiative features exhibition shows and storytelling by local producers.TFO Canada will be warming up Canada’s Fall season with Artisan Hub Exhibition shows in three of Canada’s major cities:

The best incentive for importers and buyers is that almost all of the products on exhibit will have duty-free and quota free access under the Canadian Market Access Initiative. Here is a sneak peek at some of the companies and products that will be showcased at the event:

Look out for the official launch of the Artisan Hub’s website www.artisanhub.ca scheduled to launch the week of September 12th.
