Four wellness trends to watch in 2027: CHFA

Canada’s $26-billion wellness market is shifting toward sensory experience, everyday rituals and time-tested traditions.

The Canadian Health Food Association has identified four trends set to reshape store shelves in 2027: Texture Takeover, reflecting demand among Millennials and Gen Z for sensory-rich products; Micro-Rituals, small habits that counter wellness overload; Raised on Wellness, with 35% of parents prioritizing natural ingredients in kids’ snacks; and Passed Down, a return to traditional methods such as fermenting, pickling and preserving.

That final trend matters most for international suppliers: Canadian consumers are seeking authenticity and a clear sense of where products come from, which plays directly to origin-based products and traditional processing methods.
