Small producers from Africa, Asia and the Pacific have taken the world stage by storm at this year’s Great Taste Awards in London, with 15 businesses walking away with a combined 23 accolades. The companies came from Cambodia, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Vanuatu. Their products range from fragrant jasmine rice and single-origin coffee to coconut chips, cold-pressed olive oil and craft chocolate. To earn recognition, they had to stand out among thousands of entries judged purely on flavour.
