At African Sketchbook we merge art with fabric by hand painting onto fabric, for curtains, wall cladding and upholstery. We complement the fabric with coordinating tie-backs and tassels. The artisic touch is always apparent in the subtle colour variations and the stroke of the artist's brush that give a unique texture and depth of colour. We paint to order, giving designers great flexibility in colour and design. Different selections of ground cloth allow the production of fabrics for almost any purpose. But the fabrics aren't just for show, but to be used. All fabrics meet or exceed industry standards for print durability, colour fastness to light, rub tests and washability. And the silk dupion range has colour fastness to light ratings of 4-5, until now, unheard of with silks.
