Moroccan mango imports up 10%
Morocco is witnessing evolving dynamics in mango imports, with a substantial increase outlined by EastFruit. In 2024, imports rose to 15,600 tons, a 10% increase over the previous year and double the figures for 2019 and 2020. Early 2025 saw January and February figures reach 2,500 tons, a threefold increase from the same period in 2024, marking it a high for the season.
Since 2020, mango imports have displayed a 15% average annual growth. The peak import season remains March to May, with Mali and Senegal as principal suppliers, despite Mali’s diminishing share. Conversely, Spain’s exports have decreased, while Brazil and Egypt have increased their foothold, with Brazil among the top three exporters by late 2024. Peru also set import records in early 2025.
